The Main Hall 56ft x 30ft
The spacious main hall has a fine pitched ceiling using Swedish pine. Able to seat up to 200 theatre style and up to 130 comfortably with tables, the hall is an ideal venue for weddings, concerts, social functions and dances. A portable stage adds to the flexibility of use as does the public address system.
A serving hatch from the well equipped kitchen makes the hall ideal for wedding receptions, luncheons etc. The kitchen equipment includes a catering dishwasher, microwave, large larder fridge, water urn, six burner gas range with double electric oven, a second electric oven with four ring ceramic hob. Matching crockery sufficient for up to 130 place settings includes dinner, breakfast and side plates, rice bowls, cups and saucers all in the Churchill ‘Buckingham’ design. Cutlery also is provided. A large portable hot cupboard is available for larger functions as is an ice cream freezer which is ideal for cooling champagne or wine.
A range of tables are available, these consist of 25 6ft x 2.5ft collapsible tables, as well as 12 half size collapsible tables. There are 160 stacking soft chairs with other plastic type chairs for outside use available upon request.
The Function Room 25ft x 16ft
Separated from the main hall by the kitchen and reception area, this room opens on to the spacious hall gardens which lead down to the Allen River. The Function Room is ideal for committee meetings, small sales of work or as a quiet room or food area during your wedding. A separate hatchway opens to the kitchen.
The hall has normal toilet arrangements for ladies and gentlemen. A disabled toilet also has incorporates baby changing facilities. There is also a cloakroom which is large enough to be used as a small meeting room or as storage during your function. An outside garden shed houses extra tables and chairs for outside use or for inside at larger functions. The car park can take up to 25 cars with extra parking by arrangement with the caretaker in the Sportsfield opposite.
We of course understand hirers will wish to decorate the hall for functions which is acceptable to the management committee BUT we do ask that no sellotape or bluetac is stuck to the emulsioned walls as this will pull paint from the wall plaster. There are many hooks provided around the main hall and reception area, for decorating purposes.
The Village Hall Bar

Alcohol may be provided free of charge to guests by the hirer, by arrangement with the caretaker but not whilst the bar is open. Only the franchisee may sell alcohol in the village hall. This also applies to the garden which is also licensed. The bar can only be opened by prior arrangement. A charge for opening the bar will apply. Licensing conditions must still be adhered if the bar is not open. The bar closes at 11 pm (latest).
Bar bookings may be made at the time as hall booking. Please ask the caretaker for details.
