The Village Hall Bar

Damerham Village Hall holds a full Premises Licence which includes the sale of alcohol and takes very seriously the four licensing objectives stated in the Licensing act 2005. (The prevention of crime and disorder; Public safety; The prevention of public nuisance; The protection of children from harm.)
Bar staff are fully trained and experienced, with the caretaker holding a personal licence for the sale of alcohol.

The sale of alcohol in the village hall is franchised to The Bear Inn, 12 West Street, Wilton, proprietor Mr Jason Sims, who was born and bred in Damerham. He is also the Village Hall Premises Supervisor for alcohol.

An installed beer cooling system can provide Thatchers cider and Carlsberg lager on draught. White, Red and Rose wine is also available by the glass or bottle. A large range of spirits and liqueurs including some malt whisky’s, a full range of bottled bitters, lagers, fruit ciders and soft drinks are on sale, all at pub prices. the bar is ‘CASH ONLY’.

The hire of glassware (hi-ball, wine & champagne flute) and up to 10 x 6ft round dining tables (seating 8 persons comfortably) for functions can be arranged via the caretaker, from the franchisee.

Alcohol may be provided free of charge to guests by the hirer, by arrangement with the caretaker but not whilst the bar is open. Only the franchisee may sell alcohol in the village hall. This also applies to the garden which is also licensed. The bar can only be opened by prior arrangement. A charge for opening the bar will apply. Licensing conditions must still be adhered if the bar is not open. The bar closes at 11 pm (latest).

Bar bookings may be made at the time as hall booking. Please ask the caretaker/booking secreatary for details.

Decorating

We of course understand hirers will wish to decorate the hall for functions which is acceptable to the management committee BUT we do ask that no sellotape or bluetac is stuck to the emulsioned walls as this will pull paint from the wall plaster.

There are many hooks provided around the main hall and reception area, for decorating purposes.

Local Bed & Breakfast

We are lucky to have excellent Bed & Breakfast facilities close by in the South End part of the village. Ally & Richard Acland at October House can offer you a warm welcome, if you would like to stay in the village overnight, after attending a function in the Village Hall.
